Funded by United Way, this program provides access to nutritional foods, education on healthy eating, meal preparation and teachings on ways of growing, harvesting and preparing traditional foods.

Our goal is to empower community members to create their own sustainable food security, leading to:
- Reduction in the percentage of budget spent on groceries.
- Reduction in stress around budgeting, meal prepping.
- Reduction in food waste.
- Increased confidence in the kitchen.
- Increased knowledge of food nutrition.

How This Program Works
Content
This program strives to provide long-term solutions to food security through education, access and traditional teachings, such as:
- Providing food resourcing methods (food banks/ grocery hauls).
- Teaching basic gardening skills and urban gardening tips to grow fresh food at home.
- Teaching traditional Indigenous growing and harvesting techniques.
- Teaching practical skills to improve nutritional intake on a budget.
- Teaching recipes, food storage and food preservation.
- Provide access to knowledge on food sales happening in the community/ grocery stores.
- Creating a community space to work together as a group.
